Why this site exists
Finding help can be difficult when money, time or attention is limited. We bring official starting points together and explain unfamiliar terms in short steps. You can read the guides without creating an account.
The aim is practical: understand what a program does, prepare the documents it may request and know where to apply or ask for help.
Who is responsible
Xavier Carraté Hernández is the creator and editor of GetBenefits.tools. He is responsible for this independent editorial project. We do not present him as a licensed medical, legal, immigration, tax or benefits adviser.
We do not work for a government agency, process applications, represent applicants or decide eligibility. Contact the editor about the website; contact the responsible agency about your case.
How we use sources and AI
Official program sources support statements about rules and amounts. We distinguish a source check, editorial work, translation review and software testing. A passing software test cannot establish that a benefit rule is correct.
AI assists research, drafting, translation and code development. AI output is not an official source or independent professional review. Editorial responsibility remains with Xavier Carraté Hernández. No credentialed review is claimed unless the page identifies the reviewer, relevant credential, date and scope.
Using this information and our tools
GetBenefits.tools provides general educational information and preliminary guidance. It is not a government agency and does not provide individualized legal, immigration, tax, financial or medical advice. Using this site or contacting its editor does not make us your professional adviser or representative.
An estimate, example or suggested next step is not an official eligibility decision, award, application, renewal or appeal. A zero amount, an unanswered question or a result outside a tool's coverage does not mean an agency has denied you or that you cannot apply. Only the responsible agency can review your circumstances and issue a decision.
Information, translations and software can contain errors or become outdated. Check the program, state, household category and period shown, and use the linked official source. We cannot guarantee that every page covers every exception or the latest local change.
Do not delay an application, renewal, response or appeal because of a result on this site or while waiting for an editor's reply. Check the instructions and deadlines on your own official notice. Do not stop or change medical care based on this site. Ask the agency or an appropriately qualified professional when your circumstances need individual review.
To report a possible error, email xaviercahe@gmail.com with the page address, the issue and, if available, an official source. Do not send Social Security numbers, medical records, passwords or application documents.
These explanations describe the site's scope. They do not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, waive your legal rights or prevent you from raising a complaint.
